WHAT IS SUSPENSE ??¿?

Suspense is the feeling of anxiety or uncertainty that occurs when someone is uncertain about what may happen. In the media industry, directors/writers use suspense as a device to stir emotion and fear in the audience. It is usually used in the form of a dramatic build up towards a big event or scene, and in turn viewers are eager to know what eventually happens along with being scared for the outcome. A stereotypical suspenseful scene found in the horror genre usually has a slow-building and eerie soundtrack, increasing in volume and intensity as it progresses, as well as typically scary elements such as shadows/darkness, vulnerability, or the feeling of being watched.
